Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) President Jean Henri Lhuillier lauded the efforts of the PH Blu Boys and PH Blu Girls after they captured gold medals at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Filipino softball teams reaffirmed their regional dominance, with the men’s squad blanking Singapore, 3-0, while the women’s team also prevailed over their Singaporean counterparts, 4-1.
It was the Blu Boys’ ninth SEAG gold medal, while the women’s team extended its winning streak to 11 titles,
“Performances like these reflect not just athletic ability, but character, preparation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Lhuillier, also CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier.
“The PH Blu Boys played with heart and purpose, and in doing so, brought immense pride to the Filipino people,” he added.
He also praised the Blu Girls’ impressive showing, calling it a testament to the skill and talent of Filipino athletes.
“The PH Blu Girls’ victory shows why they continue to be the benchmark of softball excellence in the region,” Lhuillier said.
“These gold medals are more than just wins. It is proof that with the right support and mindset, Filipino athletes can compete and excel at the highest levels in the region,” he added.
