The trees flank a gigantic gingerbread house, or as the BE GROUP COO Nova Noval explained, a gingerbread Hispanic ancestral home. The BE Resort pastry team, led by Pastry Chef-consultant Chef Kria Roleda, have concocted this massive Christmas confection to resemble the iconic Filipino heritage house, replete with a candy-filled puerta, a brick-and-stone silong, ventanas of capiz shells, and even teja de curva roofing—all proudly made of 100% edible materials.
While this year's holiday season was slated to be grander and the resort celebrating its 10th year in the industry as well as its back to back wins at the World Luxury Hotel Awards (Best Luxury Hideaway Villa–Global, Best Luxury Villa Resort–Asia, and Best Luxury Villa–Asia) and the World Travel Awards (Philippines' Leading Resort—the celebrations were a bit more subdued, in light of the recent earthquake and typhoons that struck Cebu and Bohol. The BE Group President and CEO Grand Benedicto emphasized the need for hope and strength in the face of these calamities. "We at BE Resort have always made a point for our company to be the spark, but this year I made the added call for all of us to also shine with hope. Because even the tiniest ray of hope is enough to dispell the darkness."
And with that, the holidays are well and truly alive in BE Grand Resort Bohol, spreading with it a message of hope for the days to come.
