Over 7,000 cops deployed across Cordillera for holidays
BAGUIO CITY – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) has deployed 7,368 police personnel across the region to ensure peace and public safety during the holiday season.
PRO-CAR Director Police Brig. Gen. Ericson Dilag said on Thursday that the heightened security measures will remain in effect until Jan. 6 as Christmas and New Year celebrations draw large crowds and increased tourist arrivals in the region.
Police personnel have been assigned to monitor major thoroughfares and transport terminals.
With the Cordillera provinces widely visited by tourists during the season, police personnel have been deployed in places of convergence and commercial areas such as public markets, parks, malls, and places of worship.
Officers are also stationed at police offices, stations, and fixed visibility points to maintain a strong police presence and ensure a quick response to emergencies.
In addition to regular police forces, 346 force multipliers and units have been mobilized to support security and crime prevention efforts throughout the extended holiday period.
Dilag urged the public to stay alert and exercise caution to help prevent accidents and untoward incidents during the festivities.
“The public is encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activities, emergencies, or security concerns to the nearest police station or through official police hotlines so we can ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly holiday season for everyone,” he said.
He added that public vigilance remains a key component of maintaining peace and order in the region.
