Most of the members of the House of Representatives remain fully behind Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III and Majority Leader Sandro Marcos.
Thus, said Assistant Majority Leader Lanao del Sur 1st district Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong amid speculation of "internal tensions" in the House linked to issues on the P6.793-trillion General Appropriations Bill (GAB) for 2026.
But Adiong says these reports of tensions and threats to the leadership are all baloney.
“Speaker Bojie Dy and Majority Leader Sandro Marcos still enjoy the confidence and the trust of majority of the members of the House,” he said of the Isabela 6th district congressman and Ilocos Norte 1st district congressman, respectively.
"We are very solid in terms of our support to the leadership of the House. As far as the members of the House of Representatives are concerned, we are supportive of the current leadership," added Adiong, a Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) stalwart.
He challenged those who were spreading rumors of dissent to reveal the sources of these allegations.
“Sana po mas maganda rin po ‘yung mga ganitong balita, halimbawa, concerned sila sa House of Representatives, ay makapagbigay rin sila kung sino ang mga nagsasabi nito (It would be good if these kinds of news about the House of Representatives could be substantiated by those spreading them)," reckoned Adiong.
“It’s not really about proving that. It’s about making sure that the information that they gathered is actually accurate or not,” he noted.
According to the Mindanaoan, there's simply "no indication" of a "challenge" to the leadership of the 300-plus strong House.
“Sa amin po rito sa House of Representatives, wala pong indication na nagsasabing merong challenge sa House leadership at buo po ang suporta at pagtiwala sa kasalukuyang liderato po ng House of Representatives,” Adiong said.
(Here with us in the House of Representatives, there is no indication suggesting that there is any challenge to the House leadership, and there is full support and trust in the current leadership of the House of Representatives.)
“As far as we are concerned, there was no truth to that rumor. And I’m here saying to you giving direct answer that there’s no truth to that rumor na meron pong challenge sa liderato, kay House Speaker Bojie Dy (that there is a challenge to the leadership, against House Speaker Bojie Dy),” Adiong said.
