Landslide shuts down Mauban-Tayabas Road in Quezon

MAUBAN, Quezon - A part of the Mauban-Tayabas Road here was temporarily closed due to a landslide on Wednesday night.
The Mauban Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said the landslide in Barangay San Isidro was triggered by incessant rain from the "amihan" and easterlies.
Rocks, soil, and fallen trees from the mountain blocked the road, preventing vehicles from passing.
The Quezon 1st Engineering District Office and MDRRMO have conducted a clearing operation but the road remains impassable as of Thursday morning.
The MDRRMO noted that both lanes of the road will be temporarily closed until further notice.
