Former volleyball player Cindy Imbo passes away

Volleyball player Cindy Imbo, who played for Choco Mucho in the Premier Volleyball League, passed away recently after a battle with cancer. She was 31.
The Coast Guard Special Service Office, where Imbo served as SW2 in the Philippine Coast Guard, expressed their condolences to Imbo’s family in a Facebook post.
“It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of SW2 Cindy imbo PCG,” the post read.
“SW2 Imbo served the Philippine Coast Guard, in particular the Coast Guard Special Service Center, with dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment. Her service and contributions will be remembered with honor, and her loss is deeply felt by the entire PCG family.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” it added.
As an outside hitter, Imbo played for University of Perpetual Help during her collegiate years, then went on to join club teams F2 Logistics, Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors and Navy in the defunct Philippine Superliga, before suiting up for Choco Mucho from 2019 to 2020 in the Premier Volleyball League.
In November last year, it was reported that the Dumaguete native was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of blood cancer aimed at the lymphatic system which weakens the body’s defense mechanism against infections.
