Filipino tycoons align as Aboitiz joins Razon's ICTSI board
Enrique M. Aboitiz, chairman of Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc., was appointed as an independent director to the board of International Container Terminal Services Inc., the port operator led by billionaire Enrique Razon.
Aboitiz will join the board on Jan. 1, 2026, to serve the unexpired term of Cesar A. Buenaventura, who died recently, ICTSI said in a filing to the Philippine Stock Exchange.
Aboitiz will also succeed Buenaventura as chairman of the related party transactions committee and will hold seats on the audit, corporate governance, ESG, and risk oversight committees.
The appointment brings a veteran of one of the Philippines' most prominent industrial dynasties to the world’s largest independent terminal operator.
Aboitiz, who also sits on the board of the privately held holding firm Aboitiz & Co., previously chaired Aboitiz Power Corp. and Aboitiz Land Inc. His experience includes former roles on the boards of the Maritime Industry Authority and the Philippine Stock Exchange.
Separately, ICTSI named Amabelle C. Asuncion as corporate secretary effective Jan. 1, following the retirement of Silverio Benny J. Tan. Asuncion, a former commissioner of the Philippine Competition Commission, currently serves as chief legal officer for Manila Water Co. and Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc.
She previously headed legal affairs for Bloomberry Resorts & Hotels Inc.
