ILOILO CITY — World-famous Boracay Island has been picked by readers of an international travel magazine as the world’s best beach for sunbathing and surfing.
Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2025 ranked the country’s most famous beach destination in Malay town, Aklan province as the best for “sunbathing, surfing and doing absolutely nothing."
“This beach is a 2.5-mile stretch of pristine, powdery-soft, white sand. But while the seaside landscape and views are certainly a big draw at White Beach, so is the seaside social, dining, and nightlife scene,” wrote Kat Chen for Condé Nast.
Borcay Island is the only beach destination in the country that made it into the list of Top 15 beaches as ranked by readers of the luxury magazine.
“Boracay has long been deemed a party destination because of its lively bar, lounge, and club culture, with people dancing to live music and DJs while sipping on cocktails by the beachfront,” the travel magazine added.
Boracay has consistently been in the list of the world’s best beaches.
This year, Boracay has been included in the list at least seven times.
