Around P1,881,560 worth of shabu was confiscated from five high-value individuals (HVIs) during a two-day buy-bust operation in San Mateo and Binangonan, Rizal, on Dec. 17 and 18.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said all operations were conducted by the respective drug enforcement teams of each municipality, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The first operation was conducted by the San Mateo Municipal Police Station-Drug Enforcement Team at around 9:27 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, resulting in the arrest of “Nor,” 48, at his residence in San Mateo.
Authorities confiscated approximately 72 grams of suspected shabu worth P489,600 from him, along with a revolver pistol and ammunition.
Meanwhile, at around 11 p.m. on the same day, two HVIs, identified as “Kalbo,” 43, and “Toto,” 21, were arrested in Barangay Pag-asa, Binangonan. Authorities seized approximately 100.6 grams of suspected shabu worth P684,080 from them.
On Thursday, Dec. 18, two other HVIs, identified as “Nestor,” 53, and “J-3,” 39, were also arrested in Barangay Pantok, Binangonan, at around 3:15 a.m.
Operatives of the Binangonan MPS recovered from them approximately 104.1 grams of suspected shabu worth P707,880, along with a sling bag, mobile phones, recovered and buy-bust money, and a motorcycle.
Rizal PPO Provincial Director Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalgo emphasized that the arrest of these suspects underscored their commitment to fighting illegal drugs in the province.
“Ang pagkakaaresto sa limang high-value individuals at ang malaking halaga ng iligal na droga na ating nasamsam ay malinaw na mensahe na walang puwang ang ilegal na droga sa Rizal. Patuloy at mas paiigtingin pa ng Rizal PPO ang mga operasyon upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng ating mga komunidad (The arrest of five high-value individuals and the large amount of illegal drugs we seized sends a clear message that there is no place for illegal drugs in Rizal. The Rizal PPO will continue and further intensify operations to ensure the safety of our communities),” he said.
All arrested suspects are facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), while “Nor” is also facing charges for violating RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition). They are currently detained in their respective custodial facilities.
