Two more Pasig communities receive Christmas gift from DHSUD, SHFC

Two more communities in Pasig City received early Christmas gifts as the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), together with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), delivered assistance to two Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP) beneficiary communities on December 16.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa led the ceremonial turnover of checks worth over P23 million for the acquisition of land in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, where the beneficiaries’ homes currently stand.
In addition, SHFC turned over grants covering the documentary stamp tax on the mortgage of both associations. This initiative forms part of the ECMP’s transformative approach under President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which goes beyond land acquisition by providing complementary support that upliftsthe living conditions of the communities.
“This is truly a perfect Christmas gift for our ECMP communities,” Laxa said. “Through the ECMP, we are not only helping families acquire the land they call home, but we are also strengthening their security of tenure and ensuring a more stable future for them.”
Laxa emphasized that the additional grants demonstrate SHFC’s commitment to holistic community development. He also shared that qualified beneficiaries from the two communities can get discounts on their water bills under the Enhanced Lifeline Program. This initiative stemmed from the recently signed deal between SHFC and the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office.
Megaville 2 HOAI is composed of 149 members, while Villa Soledad HOAI has 88 members. Both associations were also recipients of Certificates of Lot Award during the National Housing Expo held in October.
Last week, SHFC also awarded checks worth over Php21 million for the purchase of the property where another ECMP community, the Centennial Sunrise HOAI, is located. These three associations are part of the initially approved 34 ECMP projects that will benefit more than 5,800 families nationwide.
