BACOLOD CITY – A new three-story standard police station was unveiled in the municipality of Pulupandan, Negros Occidental.
The building, located in Barangay Zone 4 near the public plaza, was inaugurated on Monday, Dec. 15, by Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, director of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), together with Mayor Miguel Antonio Peña.
They were joined by Police Col. Dennis Wenceslao, director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and Police Major Edfel Balibadlan, Pulupandan police chief.
Balibadlan said the construction of the building was funded by the Philippine National Police (PNP) national headquarters amounting to P10.5 million. Work began in May and was completed in November.
He added that the project pushed through with the support of the local government, which donated a 600-square-meter lot for the police station.
Police are expected to transfer to the new facility by January, once the local government finalizes the procurement of additional equipment.
Balibadlan said they have been using their old station for more than 20 years, and the new building will significantly improve their ability to serve the public.
He said the modern facility will boost personnel morale and enhance efficiency in maintaining peace and order in the community.
Ibay described the new police station as a testament to the PNP’s continuing commitment to public service and shared responsibility with local governments in ensuring community safety.
He thanked the local government for their continued support, saying the project reflects a strong partnership that helps reinforce professionalism, dedication, and integrity in serving and protecting the community.
