Tourists arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 can now experience Filipino culture and hospitality from the moment they land through the country’s first-ever Transit Tours and Medical Concierge programs.
President Marcos, together with First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos and Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, led the unveiling on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The event highlighted the government’s push to elevate visitor experiences while creating local jobs and livelihood opportunities.
The Transit Tour program allows layover passengers to explore curated glimpses of Metro Manila’s culture, heritage, and people, providing immediate opportunities for local guides, transport providers, and tourism enterprises.
The Medical Concierge, meanwhile, ensures seamless guidance and access to trusted medical and wellness services rooted in Filipino care and professional excellence, Frasco said.
“Fellow citizens, these reforms reflect what we can achieve if the government and the private sector continue to work together for the improvement of our services for Filipinos. May these efforts inspire deeper collaboration among stakeholders, stronger institutions, and developments that put people at the center of governance,” Marcos said.
The launch also introduced the All-Filipino Food Hall and Mezzanine Food Hall, featuring 15 home-grown brands and 17 standalone restaurants and cafes that showcase regional Filipino cuisine, offering travelers spaces to dine, rest, and reconnect, New NAIA Infrastructure Corp (NNIC) President Ramon S. Ang said.
Tourism and medical stakeholders lauded the programs for enhancing the Philippines’ global appeal.
St. Luke’s Hospital President Dennis Serrano said the initiative highlights Filipino excellence in medicine and patient care, while Catherine Turvill of the Wellness Tourism Association of the Philippines described it as a “dream come true” for promoting local wellness brands.
Airline partners also emphasized the programs’ impact on travelers’ first impressions.
Philippine Airlines VP Salvador Britanico described them as “timely and innovative programs that reimagine how we welcome international travelers.”
Cebu Pacific Marketing Director Michelle Eve De Guzman added that friendly interactions with tour guides and Manila airport’s rich cultural displays can leave lasting positive impressions on visitors.
