CEBU CITY – Help came for landslide victims in various areas in Bohol province.
Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Vice Gov. Nick Besas Jr. recently led the distribution of assistance to 320 households affected by landslides in the municipalities of Jagna and Garcia Hernandez.
The first cash assistance payout was held at the Cantuyoc Covered Court in Jagna for 21 families whose homes were damaged by a landslide in Purok 4, Barangay Cantuyoc on Nov. 5.
A total of P210,000 in cash assistance was distributed to the 21 households, which also received relief goods such as rice, canned goods, water, and other items.
The governor and vice governor also distributed P10,000 cash assistance each to 11 households affected by the landslide in Barangay Candanas, Garcia Hernandez.
These households also received relief goods from the provincial government through its social welfare and development office.
Assistance was also given to five hog raisers affected by African Swine Fever (ASF), amounting to P10,000 each.
Despite official engagements in Metro Manila in the past week, Aumentado returned to personally oversee the distribution of assistance.
"It is always our priority to ensure that our fellow Boholanos are in good livable conditions," said Aumentado.
