ROOKIE cops in Central Luzon.
DAGUPAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-3 inducted 870 newly appointed patrolmen and patrolwomen on Wednesday morning, Dec. 17, in Camp Olivas, San Fernando City, Pampanga.
Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. said 3,000 individuals applied but 870 successfully hurdled the stringent recruitment process.
They filled 550 attrition quota slots and 320 regular quota slots, boosting police manpower, improving the police-to-population ratio, and strengthening police visibility and operational readiness in Central Luzon.
Peñones administered their oath, followed by the formal presentation of the recruits by Police Col. Rommel S. Batangan, deputy regional director for administration.
“Police service is not just employment, it is a commitment, a responsibility, and a calling. Sa pagtaas ng inyong kanang kamay, kayo ay nangakong maglilingkod nang tapat, kahit mahirap, kahit walang nanonood, at kahit walang pumupuri (Take your oath and vow to serve well),” Peñones said.
