THREE-HUNDRED ninety-seven new police officers assigned to Western Visayas region were sworn in on Dec. 16. (PNP/PRO-6-RPIO-6)
ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 has deployed 397 neophyte police officers to the Western Visayas region.
“The road ahead will be challenging, but it will also be meaningful. Stand firm, serve faithfully, and always remember that to serve and protect is not just our mission, it is our promise to the nation,” said PRO-6 chief Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan during their oath-taking ceremony in Camp Delgado, the PRO-6 headquarters in Iloilo City, on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
They are expected to boost police presence in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the regional capital Iloilo City and were screened by the Regional Recruitment and Selection Board.
The new patrolmen and patrolwomen underwent training in police science, administration, combat operations, and tactics.
Three-hundred applied under the attrition quota. Ninety-seven applied under the regular quota for the recruitment of the Philippine National Police (PNP) this year.
