The men’s and women’s national teams have completed a sweep of their group stage assignments and advanced to the semifinals of their respective tournaments — something the Philippine Esports Organization has credited to the teams’ training supported by Smart Communications.
PESO executive director Marlon Marcelo has thanked Smart for its continuous support of the esports national team and in its pursuit for excellence.
“Smart has always shared our vision of supporting esports in the Philippines and empowering our athletes. Together, we hope to continue inspiring more Filipinos and open doors for young players to dream big,” said Marcelo.
“We are glad to be part of Sibol’s journey to the 33rd SEA Games, as Smart has powered Sibol’s training leading to the competition,” said Lloyd Manaloto, First Vice President at Smart.
The Sibol MLBB men’s team is gunning for a fourth straight gold medal in the title since the esports event has been introduced during the 2019 SEA Games set in Manila.
The women’s side on the other hand is aiming to surpass its silver medal finish from the last edition.
