PRO-8 probes drinking spree inside Eastern Samar police station
TACLOBAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-8 has launched an investigation into the alleged drinking session of police officers on duty inside a police station in Eastern Samar province.
In a statement issued Tuesday, PRO-8 reiterated that the Philippine National Police (PNP) strictly prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages while on duty and within police premises, as stipulated under existing PNP rules and regulations.
“An immediate investigation is underway to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident and to determine the accountability of the personnel involved. Should the allegations be proven true, appropriate administrative and disciplinary actions will be imposed in accordance with existing laws and PNP policies,” PRO-8 stated.
The regional police office stressed that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct by its personnel and assured the public that violations of rules and regulations will be dealt with accordingly.
PRO-8 expressed appreciation for the concerned netizens who reported the alleged infraction, noting that such reports play a vital role in strengthening transparency and accountability within the organization.
