Philippine Airlines starts special travel program for schools
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is launching a dedicated program for educational institutions to make school-related travel more convenient, with Xavier School as its first corporate partner.
In a statement, PAL said it entered into an agreement with Xavier School, becoming the airline’s pioneer partner school under the newly launched program.
Through the partnership, the school will experience firsthand PAL’s commitment to make school-related travel easier and more enriching for students and faculty alike.
The airline said this signals the start of a “fresh approach to school travel,” which combines convenience with “meaningful opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom.”
“As the nation’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines understands the importance of a reliable partner in the skies,” said PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang.
“Our commitment is to ensure that every journey taken by the Xavier School community is marked by safety, comfort, and genuine heartfelt care,” he added.
Specifically, the program provides the school access to special travel privileges, streamlined booking processes, and opportunities for experiential learning.
It seeks to simplify travel arrangements and ensure smoother logistics for the school’s trips and cultural immersion.
The partnership likewise offers unique experiences such as guided tours of the airline’s facilities and technical training programs.
Fr. Joseph Haw SJ, president of Xavier School, said the collaboration with PAL formalizes a long-standing partnership reflected in numerous school activities over the years.
“We look forward to elevating the delivery of our programs to greater heights with this partnership. For us, it is always an honor to fly with our country’s flag carrier,” he said.
In a related development, PAL said it will redeploy widebody operations on its Manila–Puerto Princesa route beginning Wednesday, Dec. 17, to meet higher holiday-season demand.
The airline said it will operate its Airbus A330, which offers a total of 363 seats, on the vital route thrice a week—every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
PAL is offering a one-way base fare for as low as ₱688 to mark the relaunch of its wide-body aircraft fleet on the route.
