CEBU CITY – Three persons were arrested and more than P20-million suspected shabu was seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Tagbilaran City, Bohol province.
Arrested on Sunday night, Dec. 14, were two candle vendors, who were cornered in Barangay Poblacion 1.
Police said Melvin Montemayor, 52, and Joey Polinar, 43, were arrested with three kilos of shabu with an estimated value of P20.6 million.
Earlier, a welder was also arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dampas.
John Mapple Labasa, 36, was caught possessing 129.9 grams of shabu worth P883,320.
Police Lt. Col. John Kareen Escober, chief of the Tagbilaran police, said Montemayor had been in and out of jail for drug offenses.
Montemayor was first arrested on Oct. 5, 2015. He was arrested again on Feb. 3, 2021.
Despite repeated arrests, Montemayor continued with his illegal-drug peddling activities, police said.
