Cops hunt 2 men for robbing coffee shop owner in Rizal
Authorities are now hunting down the two men who robbed a coffee shop owner at gunpoint in Angono, Rizal.
The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) identified one suspect as “Hakim,” 22, while the other suspect remains unidentified.
According to the Angono Municipal Police Station (MPS), the robbery occurred inside the coffee shop on Don Mariano Santos Avenue in Barangay San Isidro, Angono, around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Their investigation revealed that the victim, the 42-year-old owner, was about to close the coffee shop while waiting for her son, who had invited friends for a dine-in.
At that time, one of the suspects, wearing a long-sleeved shirt, arrived and pretended to be a customer.
The suspect approached the victim, then suddenly pulled out a firearm of unknown caliber, pointed it at her, and declared a hold-up.
The suspect took her handbag, which contained P10,000 in cash, several identification cards, ATM cards, and three mobile phones worth around P46,500.
After the incident, the man and his cohort fled on board an unidentified motorcycle in an unknown direction.
The victim was able to track the location of her cellphone, which was later traced to P. Oliveros, Antipolo City, prompting her to seek assistance from the Angono MPS.
Authorities immediately conducted a follow-up operation, resulting in the identification of “Hakim,” who was positively recognized by the victim.
They are continuing a follow-up operation to identify the other suspect and apprehend both, who remain at large.
