Ilocos Sur, QC, Caluya town in Antique top list of LGUs with highest revenues in 2024 -- COA

Ilocos Sur, Quezon City, and the Caluya town in Antique were named as topnotchers by the Commission on Audit (COA) in its list of local government units (LGUs) with the highest amount of revenues in 2024.
In its 2024 annual financial report on LGUs, the COA said the top 10 provinces and their corresponding revenues were Ilocos Sur, P9.72 billion; Bulacan,P8.81 billion; Cebu, P7.76 billion; Pangasinan, P7.72 billion; Rizal, P7.54 billion; Cavite, P7.30 billion; Isabela, P6.93 billion; Quezon, P6.27 billion; Negros Occidental, P5.96 billion; and Laguna, P5.89 billion.
The top 10 cities were Quezon City, P31.43 billion; Makati, P21.87 billion; Manila, P21.83 billion; Taguig, P20.56 billion; Davao, P17.56 billion; Pasig, P17.00 billion; Paranaque, P10.63 billion; Pasay, P9.50 billion; Cebu, P9.22 billion; and Caloocan, P8.69 billion.
The top 10 municipalities were Caluya, Antique, P2.75 billion; Cainta, Rizal, P2.08 billion; Taytay, Rizal, P1.70 billion; Mariveles, Bataan, P1.62 billion; Silang, Cavite, P1.59 billion; Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, P1.50 billion; Rodriguez, Rizal, P1.45 billion; Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, P1.45 billion; Marilao, Bulacan, P1.36 billion; and Balaoan, La Union, P1.30 billion.
"Of the total operative revenues, the cities collected the highest amount at P461.70 billion or 40.97 percent, followed by municipalities of P396.56 billion or 35.19 percent, and provinces of P268.65 billion or 23.84 percent," the COA also said in its report.
It said that comparing the top 10 list in 2024 to that of 2023, Batangas and Pampanga dropped out of the top 10 list for provinces where they placed 6th and 10th before, as Ilocos Sur topped the list in 2024 and Isabela ranked 7th. Both Ilocos Sur and Isabela were not included in the 2023 list.
The top 10 list for cities had the same contenders, just with different rankings. Manila claimed second place in 2023 but was bested by Makati in 2024. Caloocan placed 9th in 2023 but was overtaken by Cebu in 2024, it also said.
In the top 10 list for municipalities, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur and Cabugao, Ilocos Sur were newcomers and they displaced Limay, Bataan and Tanza, Cavite which placed 6th and 10th place in 2023.
