TACLOBAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-8 promoted 661 personnel during a ceremony on Monday, Dec. 15.
Police Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, PRO-8 chief, led the ceremonial donning and pinning of ranks, symbolizing the trust and confidence reposed in the newly promoted personnel.
He reminded promotees that their advancement signifies not only recognition of past performance but also a call to higher responsibility, leadership, and service to the community.
“As you assume your new ranks, remember that this is both a recognition of your dedication and a call to serve with integrity, leadership, and commitment to the community,” he said.
The simultaneous oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks for second-level uniformed personnel and the fourth quarter CY 2025 police lieutenant colonels Continuous Promotion Program was part of the Calendar Year 2025 Continuous and Regular Promotion Program.
For police commissioned officers, four were promoted to from major to lieutenant colonel, one from captain to major, and 15 from lieutenant to captain.
Among non-commissioned officers, four were promoted from Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) to lieutenant, three from Police Chief Master Sergeant (PCMS) to PEMS, 13 from Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS) to PCMS, and 12 from Police Master Sergeant (PMSg) to PSMS.
A total of 154 personnel were promoted from Police Staff Sergeant (PSSg) to PMSg, 192 from Police Corporal (PCpl) to PSSg, and 263 from Patrolman and Patrolwoman to PCpl.
