Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Sunday, Dec. 14, reminded local government contractors and suppliers that winning a bid does not exempt them from delivering quality services, following an incident in which spoiled food was served during an event in the city.
Sotto apologized to all teachers and non-teaching personnel who attended the General Assembly on Dec. 12 for what they experienced.
“Once again, I would like to apologize to our teachers for the bad food delivered during our General Assembly the other night (Dec 12, 2025),” he said.
He added that blacklisting proceedings are being initiated against the supplier.
“We are initiating blacklisting proceedings against the supplier, Yellow Bumblebee Corporation. Magandang paalala na rin ito sa mga contractor/supplier ng LGU (This also serves as a reminder to LGU contractors and suppliers),” Sotto said.
“Oo, maaari kayong manalo basta't kwalipikado at winning bid kayo ayon sa batas, pero kung hindi kayo magde-deliver ng maayos ay hindi namin ito palalagpasin (Yes, you may win as long as you are qualified and have the winning bid according to the law, but if you fail to deliver properly, we will not let it pass),” the mayor added.
He also expressed hope that the school division officers and teachers who attended the event were still able to enjoy the gathering despite the incident. He also thanked them for their understanding and patience.
