Police arrested a 38-year-old woman who is facing four cases of human trafficking in Taguig City on Dec. 13.
Police identified the suspect as Apple Lyn, a resident of Barangay Calzada Tipas, Taguig. She was tagged as the No. 4 most wanted person of the Taguig Police for December.
She was nabbed by operatives from the Taguig Police’s Warrant and Subpoena Section based on warrants issued on Dec. 9 by Presiding Judge Byron San Pedro of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 15, designated as a Family Court. No bail was recommended.
The suspect is facing two cases for qualified trafficking in persons and two cases for trafficking in persons in violation of Republic Act 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003) in relation to Republic Act No. 9775 (Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009) and Republic Act No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
The suspect opted to remain silent and was brought to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for physical and medical examination prior to her detention.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, district director of the Southern Police District, commended the Taguig police for the successful operation.
