The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Manila donated several equipment to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for its anti-illegal drugs operation.
PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez accepted the donation which he described as essential combat the illegal drugs problem in the country, particularly in the agency's capability to conduct more precise, effective, and impactful anti-drug operations nationwide.
The donation included two Raman Analyzers and eight Samsung tablets that formally commenced during the formal signing at the PDEA Headquarters.
Nerez emphasized that the deed of donation signing of the state-of-the-art equipment is a symbol of the deepening partnership, trust, and cooperation between the PDEA and the Republic of Korea.
“May this donation empower more effective, more precise, and more impactful anti-drug operations. And may it remind us that in this difficult fight against illegal drug trade, we are not alone. PDEA is deeply grateful. The Republic of Korea’s continued generosity strengthens our workforce, inspires our spirit, and uplifts our mission to build a safer, drug-free, and towards the vision of a Bagong Pilipinas,” he said.
Nerez said the donation comes at a critical time in the Philippines' efforts to intensify its fight against illegal drugs as these advanced tools will enhance PDEA’s capabilities in drug detection, analysis, and intelligence gathering, making it better equipped to address the evolving challenges of drug-related crimes.
