Makati City honors gender responsive schools, learning institutions

The Makati City government has given due recognition to its partner schools and learning institutions who have displayed outstanding commitment to gender equality and empowerment in an awarding ceremony spearheaded by its Gender and Development Council.
The recognized schools were awarded during the Gawad ALAGAD awards which was held at the Makati City Hall, honoring them for their dedication and adherence in mainstreaming gender and development (GAD) initiatives in their policies, ensuring a safe, fair, and inclusive learning environment for all students and educators.
The Gawad ALAGAD winners are Makati High School (1st Place), Bangkal High School (2nd Place), and Jose Magsaysay Elementary School (3rd Place).
The winners of the GAD Awareness Photo Contest were also awarded during the event. The 1st Place was awarded to Ms. Jomalyn Agudong; Ms. Alyannah Cassandra Rentoria, 2nd Place, and Amanda Manuelle Miranda; 3rd Place.
Also awarded with plaque of recognition are the participating schools: Bangkal ES Main, Bangkal Senior High School, Guadalupe Viejo Elem School, Hen. Pio del Pilar Elem. School 1, Hen. Pio del Pilar Main, La Paz Elem. School, Makati Integrated School, Maximo Estrella Elem. School, Maximo Estrella Senior High School, Nicanor Garcia Elem. School, Palanan Elem. School, San Isidro National High School, and San Jose Elem. School.
