MMDA recognizes Parañaque for excellence in solid waste management

Parañaque was recognized as one of the Top 5 best performing local governments in Metro Manila for satisfactorily meeting and complying with the solid waste management standards set by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority–Solid Waste Management Office (MMDA-SWMO).

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the city received a plaque of recognition during a ceremony held at Red Hotel Cubao, Quezon City, on Dec. 10, highlighting the local government’s strong commitment to efficient waste management and environmental protection.

Olivarez noted that the award acknowledged the city’s consistent implementation of solid waste management programs and best practices that have significantly contributed to building a cleaner and more sustainable metropolis.

He added that the recognition further strengthens Parañaque’s resolve to enhance its waste management systems and promote responsible environmental stewardship among its residents.

The mayor also expressed gratitude to the various agencies and partners who continue to support Parañaque's environmental initiatives.
