A doctor and his female companion were arrested after allegedly swindling a businessman of P1,000,000 in Parañaque City on Dec. 11.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as Migs, 36, a Filipino-American doctor from Batasan Hills, Quezon City, and Inkee, 51, a resident of Carmona, Cavite.
Police said the arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by the victim, who claimed he was duped into turning over P1,000,000 in exchange for $100,000.
The parties reportedly met for the supposed currency exchange, which was documented by a written acknowledgment receipt.
However, the suspects allegedly failed to deliver the promised $100,000, and the victim’s P1,000,000 was not recovered.
The suspects are now detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility and are facing charges for estafa (swindling).
