Manila starts distribution of P243.4-M aid for PWDs, solo parents, seniors

The Manila local government began on Thursday, Dec. 11, distributing P243.4 million in delayed financial assistance for thousands of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and DSWD-listed senior citizens.
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso announced the release, stating that the city now has sufficient fiscal space to settle its pending obligations.
The city allocated P55.898 million for 46,764 adult and 9,622 minor PWDs, who are set to receive P500 each for July and August 2025.
An additional P15.548 million has been allocated for 30,788 solo parents for the same period.
Senior citizens listed under the DSWD will receive a total of P171.97 million, covering 28,364 beneficiaries.
Distribution for barangay representatives will run from Dec. 11 to 13 across all six districts.
Districts 1 and 2 are being served on Thursday at Rosauro Almario Elementary School in Tondo and Florentino Torres High School in Gagalangin.
Districts 3 and 4 will follow on Dec. 12, at the Brgy. 288 Multi-Purpose Hall in Binondo and Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School in Sampaloc.
The final day, Dec. 13, will cover District 5 at the San Andres Sports Complex in the morning and District 6 at the Sta. Ana Elementary School covered the court in the afternoon.
