Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso announces the P243.4 million social assistance rollout for PWDs, solo parents, and DSWD-listed senior citizens during a Facebook Live address on Dec. 10, 2025.
Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso announced on Wednesday, Dec. 10, the rollout of P243.4 million in social assistance for persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and senior citizens listed under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s social pension program.
In a Facebook Live address, Domagoso said the three-day release starting Thursday, Dec. 11, is meant to ease household expenses and settle the city’s outstanding obligations to vulnerable sectors.
For PWDs, the city will distribute P500 per month covering July and August 2025, benefiting 46,764 adult PWDs and 9,622 minors.
The total allocation for the sector is P55,898,000.
Solo parents will also receive P500 per month for the same period, with 30,788 beneficiaries and a total allocation of P15,548,500.
The largest release will go to 28,364 senior citizens included in the DSWD social pension list, totaling P171,975,000. Domagoso said the national government has already transmitted the funds to Manila, and he opted to release them immediately to provide seniors with added support during the holiday season.
Distribution for barangay representatives will run from Dec. 11 to 13 across six districts at designated venues.
Only authorized barangay officials—chairpersons, treasurers, or secretaries—may claim the funds, which will then be distributed directly to beneficiaries at their respective barangay halls.
Masaya ako para sa inyo (Let me repeat: The funds in these areas will only be claimed by authorized barangay officials—the Chairman, the Treasurer, or the Secretary, whoever is authorized by them. The money will be brought to their respective barangays and will be distributed there directly to you at your own Barangay Hall. The total amount to be released over the three days is P243,403,500. Distribution will start tomorrow. Life will be easier! I am happy for all of you).”
The mayor also reported that the city has delivered noche nuena food boxes to more than 400 barangays and begun distributing his personal Christmas gifts for seniors, including small cookies, a lightweight tumbler, and a portable medicine box designed to help elderly residents track their maintenance medication.
