JGFP's Parent and Child 2 set Dec. 22

So far, some 100 participants have already signed up for the second edition of the event following the JGFP’s succesful hosting last May at the Camp John Hay Golf and Country Club in Baguio City.
“We’re very excited that for the second time this year we will be staging the Parent and Child tournament, which gives opportunity for the golfing parents - mom or dad - the opportunity to have fun but at the same time compete,” said JGFP president Oliver Gan.
“This will also give our golfers and the JGFP time for a break from the Interschool. And with Christmas coming, it’s all about family,” added Gan.
The former junior golf standout said that while entry of teams or pair is nearing 50, he said the JGFP is not limiting slots as they are still open in accepting entries.
JGFP director Ely Saludar said that despite the busy schedule of CAGC, the management welcomed the staging of the tournament.
“We’re very grateful that CAGC approved our request for the JGFP to stage the second Parent and Child tournament this year. We thank them for their support because this tournament will surely be fun,” said Saludar, who is also the president of the CAGC junior golf.
Gan said that the JGFP will bring the Parent and Child tournament in Davao at the Apo Golf on January 4, 2026 with a bestball format as the scores will be counted as their 1st day scores for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGC).
Like in the previous Parent and Child tournament, JGFP will give trophies to winners in different class categories.
The JGFP is having another impressive year in staging tournaments, particularly with its main event the Interschool, which will resume in January.
