Farr clocked 2:43.67 to finish behind hometown bet Methasit Boonsane and Indonesian Rendy Varera Sanjaya who bagged the gold and silver medals, respectively.
“Nakaka-proud din po dahil ako po yung nakaka-first medal sa Philippines ngayon. And hopefully madagdagan pa po. And alam ko pong dadami pa po yan. Simula pa lang po ito,” said Farr after the race
Farr actually landed on the podium in the 2019 and 2023 edition in the Philippines and Cambodia, respectively, and he was naturally happy to consistently land on the podium.
Not as fortunate, however, were the bets in the women’s team.
Naomi Gardoce crashed on the bridge 50 meters away from the finish line. She was immediately brought to hospital as she is feared to have suffered a right collarbone fracture.
Lea Belgira, likewise, missed the podium after only clocking 3:22.47.
