Cops dismantle shabu lab in Rizal; seize drugs, manufacturing equipment
A joint operation of various police agencies dismantled an alleged clandestine laboratory, which was allegedly run by a well-organized group of foreign nationals and Filipino cohorts, in Binangonan, Rizal on Tuesday night, Dec. 9.
The operation was conducted by the joint team from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 4A Special Enforcement Teams 1 and 2, PDEA Rizal Provincial Office, PNP Provincial Intelligence Team Rizal, Binangonan Municipal Police Station, and the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO).
At around 11:40 p.m., operatives served a lawfully issued search warrant at the suspects’ residence in Lot 2 Block 2, Montalban Street corner Anonuevo Street, Barangay Macamot, Binangonan, Rizal. Their identities were not disclosed.
During the operation, they seized 80 white plastic gallons containing liquid substances believed to be Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals (CPECs), which are used in manufacturing shabu.
Also recovered were 25 plastic bottles labeled “Molasses,” five plastic bottle containers with suspected CPECs, an estimated 10 kilograms of ephedrine, 15 round white plastic bottles containing suspected CPECs, an estimated 10 kilograms of white powdered substance, about 200 grams of suspected shabu, and more than 10 kilograms of brownish powdered substance.
They also confiscated three sacks of white crystalline substance, two sacks of brownish powdered substance, one large green container with suspected CPECs, and various drug paraphernalia, equipment, and laboratory apparatus.
Authorities continue to investigate the operation and identify all individuals involved.
Charges for violation of Section 8 (Manufacture of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the subjects of the warrant.
