Letran and San Beda rekindle their old rivalry for the ultimate NCAA prize in Game 1 of the Season 101 seniors basketball Finals on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
The Knights and the Red Lions plunge into a best-of-three series that begins at 2 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
After surviving the gritty College of St. Benilde Blazers in their semifinal showdown behind the scoring explosions from Yukien Andrada and Agjanti Miller in Game 3, San Beda is ready to reclaim the title it last held in 2023.
More than winning the crown, the Red Lions also want revenge against their fierce rivals.
It can be remembered that the former Bonnie Tan-mentored Knights, led by Finals MVP Fran Yu and Jerrick Balanza, spoiled what was once an 18-0 campaign by San Beda in the championship round to claim the Season 95 title in 2019.
Before he joins the Magnolia Hotshots in the PBA, Andrada is hoping to end his collegiate year with a trophy with coach Yuri Escueta and the Lions.
Aside from two gunners, Bryan Sajonia, Nygel Gonzales, and Jomel Puno man the attack against Letran's Titing Manalili, Jimboy Estrada, Jun Roque, Deo Cuajao, Mark Omega, and Kevin Santos.
Manalili, the shifty Cebuano playmaker, has played steady basketball after steering the Squires to two straight championships in Season 98 and 99.
Meanwhile in juniors class, Arellano and Letran kickstart their title clash at 11 a.m., while the third-place playoff between Mapua and EAC raises the curtain at 8 a.m.
