A sweet ride on the Nutella Christmas Express

A whimsical pop-up in Bonifacio Global City turns holiday gifting into a warm, cocoa-filled celebration of Filipino Christmas traditions

When the holiday season arrives in the Philippines, the country transforms long before December. By September, lights glow from windows, carols echo through malls, and families map out reunions and gifts. Yet amid the rush, the heart behind giving can sometimes fade. This year, Nutella set out to rekindle that warmth.
On Nov. 21, the brand gathered its team, key opinion leaders, and media at Bonifacio Global City’s Runnr area for the Nutella Christmas Express, a train-shaped pop-up created to celebrate meaningful gifting and the flavors that mark a Filipino Christmas.
Inspired by the festive villages and bustling food trucks found abroad, the Nutella Express was designed to bring families together through simple pleasures. The cheerful train housed Nutella jars, B-ready goodies, and an array of holiday treats that underscored the season’s spirit of joy and creativity.
Guests stepped inside to find cinnamon rolls, tiramisu, bibingka, and champorado—each made richer with a spread of Nutella. After sampling the sweets, visitors moved to the craft car, where they assembled their own festive kits bundled with Nutella goodies and a limited-edition Nutella Christmas sweater.
The highlight for many was the chance to personalize a Nutella Christmas jar by adding their name—or the name of a loved one—to the label. With that small touch, “each jar became a one-of-a-kind present filled with love, warmth, and the spirit of giving,” as the brand described it. Guests also created holiday snow globes using Nutella jars, extending the theme of thoughtful, handmade gifting.
Families lingered, taking photos with a giant Nutella jar and discovering more treats inside the train. The experience encouraged visitors to slow down, savor the moment, and reconnect with the joy of giving from the heart. “Beyond the experience of The Nutella Express, it is where happiness and joy are spread through families, making memories that last,” the brand noted in its message to guests. Nutella invites Filipino families to continue celebrating #PaskongPinoyTraditions and to #SpreadNutellaLove throughout the season.
With its mix of childhood nostalgia, holiday flavors, and personalized touches, the Nutella Christmas Express captured the warmth that defines a Filipino Christmas—one sweet, heartfelt moment at a time.
