A man who stabbed and injured a police officer was arrested by the police during the conduct of a follow-up operation in Pasay City on Monday, Dec. 8.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect as Ramon, 45. He was arrested at around 4:20 a.m. at the corner of Saint Peter and Ilang-Ilang Streets, Barangay 184, Maricaban, Pasay City.
The victim, identified as Pat. Marjoe Tamayo assigned at the Pasay City Police Substation 7, was brought to the Pasay City General Hospital for treatment.
Based on the police report, Tamayo was on board his motorcycle when he noticed Ramon drunkenly loitering around while brandishing a bladed weapon.
The Ramon suddenly stabbed the policeman in his right arm and escaped towards Rosal Street after the attack.
After the suspect's arrest, Tamayo positively identified Ramon as the person who attacked him.
The suspect was detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility and was charged with attempted murder.
