During the event, participants also enjoyed wellness and recreational activities along Scout Rallos Street, including Zumba, biking, skating, and jogging, facilitated by QCPD to promote community engagement and healthy living.
The Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) also set up a Know Your BMI station and a Mental Health booth to support public health and provide holistic services for all attendees.
QCPD said the celebration served as a strong reminder of the importance of community action and collective responsibility in protecting public health and the environment.
“It aimed to raise awareness about the effects of air pollution, emphasize the need for strong clean air policies, and inspire efforts toward building healthier and more sustainable cities,” it said.
Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, acting district director of the QCPD, reaffirmed its dedication to the initiative and said, “We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order and to supporting programs that contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more eco-friendly community.”
Car-free, Carefree Tomas Morato is held every Sunday under City Ordinance 3345-2024, which closes a portion of Tomas Morato, from Scout Rallos to Don A. Roces, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. to promote an active lifestyle among residents.
