Senior citizen nabbed for raping minor in Sagay City

BACOLOD CITY – A 63-year-old man was arrested in Barangay Makiling, Sagay City, Negros Occidental for allegedly raping a minor.
The suspect, a resident of Barangay Lacaron, Valladolid, Negros Occidental, was wanted for 17 counts of statutory rape and 23 counts of acts of lasciviousness.
He was arrested on warrants issued by the Family Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 9, in Bago City, Negros Occidental on Oct. 17, 2025.
Police Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), said the suspect was the No.1 most wanted person in the region.
Investigation said the suspect threatened to kill the victim if she disclosed her suffering to anyone.
