BACOLOD CITY - A 67-year-old farmer was allegedly hacked to death by his 41-year-old neighbor in Barangay San Rafael, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental on Thursday.
Police said the victim was sitting inside his house when the suspect entered and suddenly attacked him.
The suspect was believed to be intoxicated when he hacked the victim’s head, chest, and both arms. The victim was declared dead in a hospital.
Police Major Jaynick Bermudez, Hinoba-an police chief, said the suspect started drinking due to depression since his father died.
The suspect was arrested at the victim’s house and was acting violently while inside the custodial facility.
He calmed down and claimed that he did not know what he did.
