Federal Land Inc. kicks off the holidays in Marikina with the launch of a new FIFA-standard football field, made possible with the city's support and designed to bring the community together. The new football field is envisioned as a central hub for sports, recreation, and community bonding in Marikina. Designed to promote active living and teamwork, it also serves as a venue for local events and tournaments— reflecting the city’s commitment to youth development, wellness, and the creation of a vibrant, inclusive community. Originally planned to provide residents with more accessible public spaces, it has now become a landmark that inspires athletic growth, strengthens community ties, and supports the city’s long-term vision of a healthier, more engaged Marikeño community, reflecting Federal Land’s vision to provide a productive and holistic living experience.
The kick-off
On November 26, 2025, the Marikina Town Center Football Field Ceremonial Launch officially kicked off, opening the field to the public. The event marks another milestone in Federal Land Communities’ ongoing efforts to build vibrant, well-rounded neighborhoods that bring people together. The new FIFA-standard turf, together with the food park and other open community spaces, reflects Federal Land’s vision of creating destinations where residents can play, gather, and enjoy shared experiences. These amenities are designed to enrich the daily life of the existing community and foster stronger connections among families, athletes, and visitors. Horizon Land, a subsidiary of Federal Land, has helped shape Marikina’s landscape over the past 20 years through residential developments.
Still, Federal Land Communities emphasizes that this launch is only the beginning. The company remains committed to enhancing the district with thoughtfully planned developments and community-centered amenities as it continues working toward a dynamic and fully integrated urban hub.
The launch was graced by Marikina City officials, led by Mayor Maan Teodoro, who expressed her gratitude to Federal Land Inc. for choosing to build a home in the city of Marikina. “Marikina is very fortunate; we have a lot of vast lands, and one of them is here in Federal Land. Rest assured that in the coming years, and in your development of the Marikina Township programs, we will be here, and we will be supporting it all the way,” she said.

Also present at the event were representatives from Federal Land Inc., including Federal Land President Jose Mari Banzon, along with former Azkals footballer Anton Del Rosario, who delivered the ceremonial kick to officially commence the inauguration. Their presence highlighted the strong collaboration behind the project and underscored the significance of the new football field for the community. “We work with you hand in hand to make Marikina a destination for residence, for wellness, for recreation, for food. Today's inauguration is a testament to our shared vision," said Jose Mari Banzon, president of Federal Land Inc., as he expressed his gratitude to the local government for the trust and support they have given to their development.
A city turned into a vibrant hub and elevated space
The new recreational space provides Marikeños, who are known for their love of sports, with an upgraded venue that complements the Marikina Sports Center. Situated in a city that is home to residential subdivisions, schools, hospitals, and shopping centers, the facility contributes to a complete and balanced lifestyle. This effort of Federal Land in Marikina City has created a premier recreational space, ideal not only for sports enthusiasts but also for residents who simply want to watch games, with bleachers that can accommodate up to 250 spectators. The 100 x 68-meter football field, built to FIFA standards, provides a professional-grade playing experience for athletes and enthusiasts alike. Beyond sports, it embodies Federal Land’s commitment to transforming Marikina into a vibrant and dynamic city, offering elevated spaces that foster community engagement, promote active living, and enhance the overall quality of life for its residents. Adding to the excitement, another partnership was forged to make the celebration even more memorable. Toyota Motor Philippines unveiled the city’s newest hangout spot, Toyota Tamaraw Food Park, located just beside the football field. The park features creatively converted Tamaraw food trucks serving a diverse array of delicious local favorites, offering residents and visitors a unique dining experience that perfectly complements the recreational and community-focused atmosphere of the area.

What’s coming in Marikina in the next years
The football field is not the end of Marikina’s transformation—it is only the beginning. More developments are on the way, all aimed at making the city an even more vibrant, dynamic, and well-rounded space for residents and visitors alike. These upcoming projects reflect a shared commitment to continuous growth, community enrichment, and a brighter future for Marikina. Federal Land shared that they are also renovating Blue Wave Mall, recognizing the need to update and enhance the space. Seizing the opportunity, the company is transforming the mall’s third floor into a full sports center featuring basketball, badminton, and pickleball courts — facilities designed to complement the newly launched football field. This initiative aligns with their broader vision for Marikina: to establish the Marikina Town Center as a hub for wellness, recreation, and family living. In line with this direction, the mall’s interiors are also undergoing refurbishment, with completion targeted by the middle of next year.
To maximize the impact of the football field, the company plans to introduce a variety of activities and programs, ensuring the area becomes an engaging and lively destination for the community. Federal Land continues to make its mark in Marikina, working closely with the local government to create spaces where residents can truly thrive. Through developments that promote wellness, recreation, and community connection, the company reaffirms its commitment to building environments that enrich everyday life.
With more projects underway, Federal Land Inc. and the LGU remain committed to shaping a Marikina that is not only progressive and vibrant, but also a place its people are proud to call home—showing how their shared vision and strong partnership are paving the way for sustainable growth, meaningful community development, and a brighter future for all Marikeños.
