The Manila City Government officially lit its Christmas tree in a festive ceremony led by Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso, Vice Mayor Chi Atienza, department heads, city councilors, and guests from the private sector.
Domagoso said the annual lighting serves as a reminder of hope and unity as the year draws to a close.
“This is the city’s gift to all of you—to remind us that despite the challenges we faced, we are just 20 days away from closing 2025. And in the spirit of Christmas, we are reminded of two things: to give and to love,” the mayor said.
The event was filled with energy and excitement as popular bands Sandwich and Hey June performed for the crowd, adding to the celebratory mood.
The lighting ceremony marks the start of Manila’s month-long Christmas activities and public events.
