Fake dentist arrested in Tuguegarao City

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — Police arrested a 27-year-old fake dentist in an entrapment operation on Dec. 3 here.
The operation was conducted after police discovered that the female suspect was offering dental services online by messaging potential clients.
The Philippine Dental Association (PDA) and the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) confirmed that the suspect is not a licensed dentist.
The suspect was arrested while performing a dental procedure on a poseur patient.
Recovered from the suspect were dental paraphernalia and the mobile phone used to communicate with patients.
Investigation revealed that the suspect is only a high school graduate and was illegally practicing dentistry for 10 years using equipment purchased online.
The suspect was taken to the City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings and is detained at the Tuguegarao City Component Police Station.
Police urged the public to remain vigilant when availing of health-related services and immediately report suspicious activities that may pose risks to community safety.
