Cops seize over P27 M worth of shabu in Davao del Norte buy-bust

Police anti-narcotics agents seized more than P27 million worth of illegal drugs following the arrest of two suspected drug peddlers in a buy-bust in Panabo City in Davao del Norte Friday, Dec. 5.

Police Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete, director of the Police Regional Office 11, said the two arrested suspects, identified only as alias Gang and alias Cesar, are classified as high-value targets in Davao Region.

He said the operation was carried out after police intelligence operatives were able to negotiate with the suspects for the purchase of shabu. The arrest was announced after the transaction was completed.

Seized from the suspects were multiple sachets and knot-tied plastic cellophanes containing white crystalline substances containing around 4,060 grams of shabu with a street value of P27.6 million.

Rosete said the arrested suspects and all seized evidence are now in the custody of Panabo City Police Station for proper documentation, adding that criminal charges will immediately be filed against them.

Rosete encouraged the public to remain vigilant and continue reporting drug-related activities to the police.
