Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo was turned over to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed on Saturday, Dec. 6.
BJMP spokesperson Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said Guo was with Rachel Joan Carreon and Jamielyn Cruz, two other convicts in human trafficking case, during the transfer at around 10:48 p.m.
He said the turnover of custody from the BJMP Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory was done in compliance with a commitment order issued by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 167.
The transfer was done after the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 167 junked her motion to remain at the Pasig City Jail after her conviction.
Before their commitment to the CIW, the accused completed their medical and laboratory examinations inside the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory as part of the standard pre-transfer protocol required before the turn over of the persons deprived of liberty (PDL) to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
With their transfer, Guo and her co-accused underwent mandatory quarantine and evaluation at the CIW’s Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC), where they were subjected to further medical checks, security assessment and inmate classification procedures before being moved to their assigned dormitory.
