Antipolo marks Christmas Fiesta 2025 with grand parade

The streets of Antipolo City will come alive with colorful floats, vibrant costumes, and the sound of drums and other musical instruments on Sunday, Dec. 7, as the city celebrates its annual Christmas fiesta.
City Mayor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares III will lead officials in several festivities on Dec. 7, ahead of the main celebration on Dec. 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Starting at 7 a.m., floats designed around the "Whimsy Wonderland" theme will parade through the main streets leading to Sumulong Park, fronting the Antipolo Cathedral and city hall. The Fiesta Grand Parade that will begin at the Ynares Center grounds.
The streets of Ynares Center, J. Sumulong, Sto. Niño, C. Lawis, Gen. Luna, P. Oliveros, and those near Sumulong Park will be filled with participants representing the city’s villages, local government offices, schools, and commercial establishments.
Floats will feature village representatives, often local beauty pageant winners.
It has long been a tradition for television and move personalities to join the December parade.
This year, some of the cast members of Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins -- one of the films in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 lineup -- are expected to participate.
Traffic and security personnel have been deployed along the parade route in anticipation of the large crowd.
Several brass bands representing Antipolo's 16 barangays, along with drum and lyre groups from local schools, will join the parade. Dressed in colorful uniforms and accompanied by majorettes, they will heighten the fiesta atmosphere with music.
At 10 a.m., Sumulong Park will host a marching band competition, featuring groups from within and outside the province. Winners in various categories will receive prizes ranging from ₱10,000 to ₱20,000.
The Ynares Center will host the drum and lyre competition at 1 p.m., a traditional event that draws supporters from participating schools.
The office of Mayor Ynares said music lovers -- especially the oldies -- can look forward to Serenata 2025, a night of performances by participating bands at 6 p.m. in Sumulong Park.
Traffic personnel will direct motorists to alternate routes to ease congestion near city hall and the Antipolo Cathedral during the festivities.
The city government has issued a travel advisory announcing road closures and traffic rerouting to be enforced on Sunday.
