Tropical Depression Wilma maintained its strength on Friday afternoon, Dec. 5, while slowly tracking westward toward Eastern Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
In its Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 8 issued at 5 p.m., the agency said Wilma’s center was last estimated 180 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph).
The weather disturbance is moving westward slowly, the bureau noted, with its strong wind field extending outward up to 220 kilometers from the center.
