TUBA, Benguet – A mining company production department supervisor was killed in landslide in a mining site here on Dec. 1.
The victim, whose name was not disclosed by the police, is a 48-year-old native of Pangasinan and resident of Philex Mines, Camp 3, Tuba.
According to the Tuba Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred at around 6 p.m. at the 782-meter level, Production Line 7, Mock Rest area in Camp 3 and was reported to them at around 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 2.
Investigation said the victim was operating a scoop drive when the landslide occured, burying him and his equipment.
Employees and the safety department retrieved the victim's body at 3 p.m. on Dec. 2.
The victim was declared dead in a hospital.
