The Philippine Esports Organization gets a much-needed boost not only for its Southeast Asian Games bid but also for its preparations for the Asian Games next year and plans to further strengthen the federation’s grassroots program.
That, after the esports body unveiled a momentous partnership with ArenaSocial which pleads to support the federation’s programs during a signing ceremony at the Hilton Manila, Wednesday, Dec. 3.
PESO executive director Marlon Marcelo highlighted the impact of the partnership especially with the big year looming for Philippine esports.
“Yung funding of the esports national training facility is one of the goals that we have for 2026 as we move forward. Definitely yung push to give more resources in Sibol as you may know, we plan to join seven game categories for the Asian games,” said Marcelo.
“That is a lot of resources if you think about it but together with ArenaSocial we were able to get it right and hopefully it will bear success moving forward. We are really grateful na nagkaroon ng ganitong opportunity para sa federation,” he added.
The partnership also came at a time where the Sibol national team is in the final stretch of their preparations for the SEA Games where the men’s MLBB team will be gunning for a fourth straight gold medal.
According to Marcelo the establishment of the training centers will go in parallel with the team selection for the Asiad.
ArenaSocial managing director Erik Su, likewise, highlighted the shared goals between PESO and his company in terms of discovering fresh talents from the ground.
“I think all the success of Sibol is all coming from the grassroots so it is very important for us to be part of the journey to help PESO and the team because that is what we can do on the ground for them,” said Su.
