BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested four men wanted for allegedly raping a minor in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said that the suspects – a 22-year-old roll-up installer, the eighth most wanted person in the region, and his three companions, aged 18, 19, and 22 – allegedly molested the victim after a drinking session.
Their arrest warrants were issued by the Sagay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 73 on Dec. 2 with no bail recommended.
Meanwhile, a firecracker explosion damaged a storage room in Purok Tuway, Barangay Canmoros, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Fire Officer 1 Exxon Ylosorio, arson investigator of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Binalbagan, said the owners, a 72-year-old homeowner and his wife, were eating dinner when the blast occurred at 7:18 p.m.
The fire was contained to the storage room and was put out at 7:38 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Despite a town-wide ban on selling firecrackers, the owner admitted these were stored for personal use, according to Ylosorio.
Damage to property was estimated at P240,000. Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
