Two phreatic eruptions, both lasting two minutes, transpired at Taal Volcano on early Thursday morning, Dec. 4, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The agency said the eruptions occurred at the Taal main crater at 12:58 a.m., and 1:04 a.m.
“These events generated plumes that rose 1200 meters above the crater before drifting southwest based on the Daang Kastila (VTDK) thermal and Lower Calauit (VTLC) IP cameras,” Phivolcs said.
Meanwhile, the agency said the second event hurled incandescent ballistics up to 300 meters above the lake.
Phivolcs said Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1.
